Acadia National Park’s Sieur de Monts Spring is one of the major birding hotspots on Mount Desert Island. A casual two-mile walk takes us through a variety of habitats, including an Eastern Hemlock forest, a Red Maple swamp, and an alder thicket. For years now, we have been following the annual antics of a family of Barred Owls, who are regularly seen well into August. Of course, there are a variety of wood-warblers and flycatchers whose chorus accompanies us during our walk. Join us as we explore this beloved birding hotspot.
